Ed Mun

SUA

Graduated in 1985 from Rhodeec International School Interior Designer and started S.U.A Interior in 1989. Founder & CEO creative doyen behind S.U.A Interior, which has been a boutique Malaysian Interior Design brand for the past 32 years. The name S.U.A, in short for Space Utilization Analyst, was derived from my design philosophy that blossomed in his early design days in the late 80s. Back then, I focused heavily on corporate bodies. Studying the way the workforce functioned, used, and interacted with the given space – “Psychology of space”. My ethos was to optimize spaces, and firmly believed in driving down intangible costs for an organization through my design planning. My first clients include the likes of Fuji, Bausch & Lomb and Ericsson, which started with small satellite offices in Kuala Lumpur. Today, S.U.A Interior clientele includes the likes of Hong Leong Group, Tencent, Samsung, etc, and international clients abroad within South East Asia. Despite S.U.A’s reputation in the market on Corporate Offices, the company also designs Factory/Warehouses, Financial Centers/Banks, Healthcare, Showroom Galleries, and Education Institutions. With three decades of experience under my belt, my goal in the next three-decades is to encourage young aspiring designers through “Insight Interior with Ed Mun” – a playlist in S.U.A Interior’s Facebook / YouTube Pages to offer insights into the practices of the industry, the challenges and the rewards of being an Interior Designer in the 21st Century.
