I have had a very varied career in which I not only dabbled in many industries & also many disciplines. I am now a specialist in establishment of frameworks and a self-professed thinker of how decision-making processes work & how they can be applied to a Malaysian corporate environment. A graduate of the school of hard knocks, one of my interests is to reconcile the practical experience that I encountered & observed in my career to academic descriptions of management practices. All these utilises the wide range of experience I had in many different aspects & functions in a company and to integrate them into a coherent picture for a CEO's decision making. At present, I am focussing on helping Malaysian SMEs fulfil the strategic aspirations of the owner-CEO. From such aspirations (often very vaguely stated) a strategic roadmap can be identified within the desired timeframe. The roadmap will consider all aspects of the organisation including required changes to the system, processes and people as well as the existing & planned organisational capabilities and business plans. Implementation takes place using the resources of the company itself to maximise knowledge transfer. Often, diversions may be undertaken to clear critical roadblocks. I usually find the accounts need to be cleared up as well as the corporate structure, as the accounting, tax and legal constraints de-optimises restructuring options.
The impact I want to make
I want to see young people fulfilling their potential in their chase for their very personal reasons for doing what they wanted to do. I want to provide them with the experience and expertise I have accumulated myself so that they can build on them to create that better tomorrow we all deserve. I want to help companies to grow and achieve their strategic goals that are born out of very personal desires of the leadership and the workers. Small/medium companies have a right to services that the PwC or BCG offer but at a price way beyond their budget. I want to help people acquire skills to improve their work or personal lives, where they can bridge differences between people of different understandings or generate new insights to world and personal events. All these because I believe that what we do, work or personal, starts from very deep down values we hold and I would like to get people in touch with those values so that those values can be realised.
