Quan Ming is an ex-corporate individual who's now started several businesses (Automotive, Halal Food Export and Pet Food). Having lived in England (London), China (Beijing) and Australia (Perth), he has a good understanding of cultural diversity. He is among the fastest growing talent during his years in Shell in the area of IT Project Management in Oil & Gas; and has also groomed new graduates that have joined these corporations that he was a part of. Since joining the industry, he has been posted to 4 different locations within the past 5 years whilst also reaching a career-high as an expat in Australia.
The impact I want to make
I've been mentored myself during my career in corporate (about 10 years in my tenure in British American Tobacco and Royal Dutch Shell). It has helped me navigate the daunting matrix organization and also helped me scale my career path quickly. I was one of the only few employees to be able to have a 2x increase on my take-home salary yearly for the first 3 years (as well as being an expat in Australia). A solid performance as well as good working relationships. This would be beneficial to those to aspire to reach similar heights in their corporate career. The bonus is now I'm also an entrepreneur having 3 companies under my belt. :) There's a saying, "When you feel weightless, you feel limitless". So don't let any stigma or "belief barrier" deter your progression!
