General
FutureLab aims to close the knowledge gap through digital mentorship and upskilling/networking events. Mentees benefit from the real world expertise and guidance of their mentors in career/goal planning and building valuable skillsets.
Our mentors are passionate about sharing their experiences with anyone looking for help. A mentor can provide advice to students or fresh graduates on relevant education and career paths, whether you are still trying to figure out what to do or are looking to build your dream career. Aspiring entrepreneurs can connect with mentors who are entrepreneurs themselves to learn more about their journeys and experiences. Working professionals can build networks with mentors to explore other industries for career changes or upskill themselves to advance their career path.
Sessions are scheduled for 1 hour but can be extended during the session itself. This is dependent on the mentors availability.
We interview all our mentors to verify their identities and ensure that they are well equipped to answer questions from students and young professionals between the ages of 15 - 28 .
Mentors will accept booking requests if they believe that they have the ability to help you, otherwise they will reject the booking requests if they can't. This ensures the quality of mentoring sessions for both mentees and mentors.

FutureLab aims to be the world's go-to platform for social learning, where we provide students, working professionals, and aspiring entrepreneurs with a platform to connect with industry mentors and upskill themselves.
Social learning means to learn from someone else, whether that is through connecting with a mentor or joining one of our community events to increase your knowledge about a particular topic or industry.
All our mentors are volunteers that are looking for a convient way of adding value to society.
Our mentors are pretty flexible in the ways that they can help you:
1. Students can request for sessions related to career conversation, CV screening, and mock interviews
2. Working professionals can request to build their networks, upskill themselves, or discuss making a career change
3. Entrepreneurs can learn from mentors on how to build winning teams, business model validation, and growth hacking
For Mentees
Use the search bar to find mentors working at companies or in industries you are interested in learning more about. View their profiles to learn more about them, then connect with the mentor to book their time.
Do some research about the mentor and the company/industry you are interested in discussing beforehand. Most mentors can be found on Google or LinkedIn. Besides research, you should also try to:
That's completely fine! If you're still figuring out your path, FutureLab is perfect for you. You can connect with mentors to learn more about their career journeys - just let them know that you're still trying to figure out what you want to do and you would like to hear about their experiences - our mentors love that!
How sessions are conducted is completely up to the mentor - you can see this when you are creating a booking under 'Mode of Communication'.
Of course! We encourage you to continue your growth with your mentor if you both feel that you make a good mentoring pair. At FutureLab, we try to build a mentor community where everyone and anyone can reach out to awesome people who want to help others succeed.
For Mentors
We are planning to launch paid services for specialised consultants/mentors who provide specific professional services - If you are interested in being part of our pilot launch of FutureLab experts please fill in this form here.
Futurelab was initially a free platform. However, to prevent mentees from booking multiple mentors without commitment and not showing up to their sessions, we now charge a small fee to ensure that the mentors' time is not wasted. Fees are used for ongoing platform maintenance and improvement.
FutureLab was created with the goal of adding value to society. If you would like to add value to the community, share your knowledge, and guide the next generation of young professionals and entrepreneurs, FutureLab is the right place for you!
As a mentor, you are also able to:
As a mentor, you are in charge of your own availability and mode of communication. You can set your preferred dates & times for mentoring sessions which mentees can then book.
If you are not comfortable sharing your personal contact details, the FutureLab video call function would be your best choice for communication.
Pricing
Sessions are RM5 each.
If a mentee misses a session without informing their mentor, your session credits will be forfeited. If this happens more than 3 times your account will be frozen. If you think we made a mistake, please email us at info@futurelab.my.
